Easy As A,B,C!

5–8 minutes

Hey family, how is it going? I hope 2023 has been good to you so far!

For me, 2023 has been interesting. It has been filled with lots of eye-opening discoveries. No worries, it has not been terrible, but I’ve certainly found myself shocked a few times. These discovereies have pushed me to be more intentional about living a life of purpose. It has dawned on me that the world is in desperate need of Jesus and I need to represent him first class.

I’ve learned that people thrive when they feel like their genuine needs are met. Everyone longs for a sense of community; even when they don’t know that they need it.

There is a common saying that people don’t care about how you know until they know how much you care. There is also a balance to this, you have to know how to differinate between wants and needs. In a democratic society, everyone has something to say, everyone is fighting for their supposed “needs”.

But, you have to focus on your unique purpose, so you don’t get distracted by the masses. Your purpose will determine the needs you supply. Purpose does not involve dancing to the tune of the crowd, it involves being in sync with the father.

Over the last few weeks, it dawned on me that people can be in close proximity to you, yet be far from you. Which leads to them not truly knowing you and makes room for lots of assumptions.

As a leader on various levels, I’ve learned that it is vital to invest in interpersonal relationships. It is essential to not only interact with people for organizational benefit but to let them see that you are invested in other areas of their life.

When people see that you are committed to their growth, they will be committed to you! Often, when the deliverables are endless and urgent, it is easy to forget that behind every task, there is a human being that needs some sort of attention and affection.

With all that being said, another thing to note is that some people are parasitic. They may start out with good intentions and eventually turn bitter when their “needs” seems to be overlooked or ignored. Bitterness is contagious, it first of all eats away at one’s heart then creates a dominion effect to those around them.

At times, some things have to be dropped so that better things can come. Even when there is an emotional attachment, it is best to let it go so you can move forward. You can not please everyone, and that is okay! Say bye to dead weight!

I don’t know who needed to read that but, I hope it helps.

So, that has been my experience so far, taking my lessons and looking to better days ahead!

*********

On a lighter note…

Something funny happened to me a few weeks ago. Valentine’s day was around the corner and I been desiring to go to a particular restaurant for about a year but for some reason, I and my husband could never find the right time.

Thankfully my children started a after school program in January and they now get home in the evening. Which works out great! It gives me more time to get work done and when my husband is off from work, we get to hangout, have lunch dates, etc.

For Valentine’s week, we could not do anything because our schedules were full. So, we had to go out for lunch a week prior. The restaurant is a bit expensive so I wanted to ensure that we enjoyed it fully. I kept talking about it, I studied the menu over and over again, I read tons of reviews, and watch several Youtube videos about the restaurant. I know, its a little extreme but I am a planner and I can’t help it!

When the day came, I was ecstatic! Finally all the hours of talking and researching was about to be worth it. And, we had a blast, I was thoroughly satisfied. Both my heart and belly were full!

But guess what? The Holy Spirit came for me! The night before our lunch at the restaurant. I was chilling on my bed and minding my business until the Holy Spirit stopped my thoughts in there tracks and said, “If you do this for other areas of your life, your life would be better!”

Wow! I felt like my edges were snatched off the sides of my head! I humbled myself and nodded in agreement. He was right, I had no response. I just smirked and noted it for action.

You see, as believers we sometimes struggle with having faith in God. Especially when we’ve been waiting for a while. It is easy to give up and feel like God is unfair, too slow, or out right mean!

For instance, I had been desiring to go to this particular restarurant for over a year. It was not until I became “obsessed” with researching about it that it finally happened.

I kept talking about it, I can not count how much times I mentioned it to my husband = The Power of Confession.

I kept reviewing the menu, It is stuck in my memory = The Power of Studying the Word.

I kept reading and watching the reviews of others = The Power of Testimonies.

I envisioned myself seated and eating at the restarurant over and over = The Power of Meditation.

As you can see, faith is not as difficult as it seems! Just like the Holy Spirit told me, if I can spend that much energy on other areas of my life, I can have a better life. The same goes for you friend.

This life does not respond to lazy Christians. Faith is the currency of God’s Kingdom. If we can just dare to believe in God and partner with him, we can do great things and become who he has called us to be. Faith is not hard, it is not mission impossible. God’s Word always works, you have to learn how to make it work for you. It works when you work it. If it is God’s Will, it will produce desired results when you believe it wholeheartedly.

We have been given the source of creation…this is a BIG DEAL! We have to understand that we have the source of creation at our fingertips (literally). It is the Word of God!

Jesus has made all things available for us, all he needs is for us to partner with him by faith. Receive the Word, Believe the Word, Mediate on the Word, Confess the Word, and Act on the Word.

I don’t know about you but I want to gain more than pounds this year…I want to have enjoy my best life! I refuse to live below the standards of Christ, I refuse to be lazy! I am taking what rightly belongs to me! I want it all!!!

Just like I did not give up on my desire for a fine dining experience, I am not going to give up on my desire for the divine life. Even when the going gets tough, even when the enemy attacks left, right, and center. I am going to keep believing until I see it. And while I wait, I will be rejoicing because God is true to his Word!

Join me family, let’s win together! Our collective victory has greater impact on the world at large!

With lots of love,
