Hey family, what’s good? It’s been a long time! I trust that you all are well! I wanted to drop in quickly and check in with you. You all know I love you too much 🥰.
It’s almost the end of July, and I am counting my blessings. God has been good to me and mine. This year has been productive so far, and I have no complaints.
How has 2022 been for you? No matter what, there is still time to make the best of this year, don’t give up now!
Towards the end of May, I was a bit anxious. I was given several opportunities and had to take on new responsibilities. I didn’t think I could handle it all.
After getting over the shock of having a lot more on my table, I took some time to think and re-strategize. I put pen to paper and created a schedule for June – August. Having everything spelled out made it easier to deal with. I got through the first month like a champ.
However, I felt a bit stressed at the beginning of July, so I became intentional about resting. I started incorporating mini-breaks throughout my day and occasional power naps when possible; it has been a great decision.
Living a life of purpose is dynamic; there are many twists and turns. I am learning to be more flexible. Things happen! You must be willing to take risks when you want to do big things! This has been a central learning point for me in 2022, being comfortable with change and trusting the process, knowing that every twist is moving me forward in the right direction.
Naturally speaking, I am not much of a risk taker. I don’t like being in situations I can not “control.” I need to see the whole picture and know all the available options. I realized that this way of doing things is actually fear in disguise. Fear has so many ways of creeping up on people. I don’t want to go through life playing it safe. You shouldn’t either! The world is waiting for your glow up so you can give all the glory to God!

I’ve been understudying many great people who have made tremendous impacts in their sphere of influence. One thing they had in common was that they dared to believe in their dreams instead of bowing out to the situations and circumstances; that told them it was impossible! They never gave up in the face of challenges; they kept their dreams alive and forged ahead. Life throws everyone lemons; instead of trying to dodge them, become creative! Make lemonade, lemon cookies, lemon pepper chicken; the list is endless!
This purpose journey takes several leaps of faith! When it’s faith, you’ll never fail, so keep leaping! Leaping will result in progress. Bowing out will lead to stagnancy. No matter what, keep moving, don’t stop!
If you’re a creative like me, you probably have so many ideas simultaneously popping up in your head. Sometimes, I just want to shut my mind up and be average! But no family, we don’t do average here! At those moments, I have to remember whose daughter I am and get strength from the source.
I talked to my boss-friend the other day about yet another idea. I told her I’d been fighting the idea for a long time. I told her how I’d tell God, “Why don’t you tell someone else to do it!” She smiled and nodded her head; she knew exactly how I felt. You may be reading this and feel the same way; I have news for you, YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB!!! YOU ARE GOD’S CHOICE!
Recently, I was listening to a sermon, and something dawned upon me. If God chooses you for an assignment, it is a great privilege. Never ever take it for granted. The preacher mentioned that Abraham and David were not God’s first choices! Yet they stood down in their generations. Whattttt, Noah was chosen, but he couldn’t keep his children in check. Saul was chosen, but he got full of himself.
Family, stop fighting; just surrender! You can not afford to be replaced! Nations, institutions, inventions, and solutions are on the inside of you, waiting to be birthed. The universe will be at your beck and call when you step out in obedience. And please don’t be ashamed of baby steps or humble beginnings; it is an excellent sign that you are progressing in the right direction.

I was inspired by Tobi Amusan, a track and field athlete who has made Nigeria and women worldwide proud! She set a world record by literally chasing her dreams; she went from a “nobody” to a wonder overnight. The glow-up often appears to happen suddenly, but there is always a story; there is always a season of preparation and hard work. Don’t try to escape that season; it is what will sustain you when the dream becomes a reality.
Those ideas that have dropped into your heart were given to you as solutions for your generation. All God needs is your obedience; he will be patient and wait for you. However, he won’t wait forever. He will choose someone else because people, things, and places are tied to your obedience, and he needs someone that can be his hands and feet on this earth.
This is my check-in and encouragement to you today, family; let’s live this purposeful life together! You are too great to think small. Invest in your mind until you begin seeing the possibilities available to you in Christ. God has invested so much on your inside! Kick fear, doubt, and procrastination in the face and show them whose boss!
I will be back soon to share my new ventures with you all. In the meantime, keep me lifted in prayers, and I will do the same!
With lots of love,
– Bunmi Adebiyi
