My Experience: Woman Evolve ’21

5–7 minutes

Hey family! I hope you all are doing well!

I am so glad to have you in this space today! Thanks for coming by!

Here in the U.S., today is Thanksgiving!!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

For some strange reason, this year, I am not excited about consuming a large quantity of food as usual. Maybe it is because I really don’t feel like cooking. I plan on keeping it simple this year; I won’t be cooking a lot of dishes. I truly want to relax…I need a chef, maid, nanny, personal assistant, and driver…hahaha…fam pray for me, I have a lot going on…I am sure many of you can relate! Plus, my kids have been on a break from school all week, and they’ve been eating around the clock. I wonder how they eat so much and don’t seem to gain any weight!!! Anyways…

What are you grateful for?…leave it in the comment section below.

I am grateful for LIFE>>>PEACE OF MIND>>>GOOD HEALTH>>>FAMILY & FRIENDS. That includes YOU!!! Thank you so much for being part of my virtual family! *hugs*

As I said in my previous post, I attended the Woman Evolve conference hosted by the one and only Sarah Jakes Roberts earlier this month!!! Every time I think about my experience, I smile because it was life-changing. I’ve admired Pastor Sarah from a distance for a while! I love her ability to connect to her audience, I love her story, I love her passion for women, and I love her fashion sense.

When some church members said they wanted to gift me a ticket to a women’s conference for my birthday, I immediately went on Instagram to see if Pastor Sarah was having one anytime soon. And I was so excited when I saw that the Woman Evolve conference was slated to hold this month, and it wasn’t too far from home. Only for me to be disappointed shortly after because it was initially supposed to be a virtual conference with in-person tickets for those who purchased tickets for a conference that was supposed to hold last year. I needed a getaway; I just sensed that I needed to be alone with God for a couple of days.

After scrolling through Instagram, I saw that I wasn’t the only one that wanted to be in the building. I even sent an email to the woman evolve team asking how I could get an in-person ticket, but I did not get a response. I eventually found someone who offered to sell my her in-person ticket for a discounted price. I was so excited because I took the time to pray about this conference; I just knew I had to be there. By the time I was ready to purchase the ticket, the lady had sold it. I was crushed, and I immediately heard God say within me, “Why did you give up? Didn’t you pray?”

So I decided to go on the Woman Evolve website and scroll through, hoping for a miracle. And a miracle is what I got! The website stated that a limited amount of in-person tickets were available for purchase…woohoo. I quickly purchased my ticket. What was strange to me was that it was not publicized at that time. I checked on Instagram and didn’t see any posts about the limited in-person tickets. I also almost missed the option on the website; it was towards the end of the page, and I caught it right before X-ing out.

God is good! He answers prayers! And he came through with the other expenses for the trip to Dallas. I enjoyed favor throughout my trip! My rental car and hotel room were upgraded for free. My daddy did that!!! He spoiled me!!!

He gave me one instruction before I set out on my journey; he told me to focus on him solely. Hence, I did not inform my family and friends that reside in Dallas that I’d be in town (If you’re reading this…I am sorry ya’ll!)

The theme of the conference was: EXHALE! And boy did we exhale! God really showed up; I am still trying to find the words to describe what happened to me. That conference was evidence that God loves his girls! When I heard people share their testimonies, I was overwhelmed…people go through stuff! But the good news is that God can use anyone, and he re-writes stories and redefines lives! I have a newfound respect for womanhood.

I later discovered why they gave us mini tissue packs before the conference; I cried so much…we all cried so much. Tears of joy! Tears of relief! It did not end in tears; God spoke to us! Each session built upon one another, and it was amazing. We laughed, danced, prayed, and took it all in! To top it all off, everyone was so nice…it was a no-drama zone, I did not feel lonely at all. Someone even offered to have lunch with me when she discovered I came alone.

Simply put, this is the time for women everywhere to ARISE and take their place!!! Ain’t no stopping us NOW!!! It’s God’s plan, and it is not a plan to undermine the importance of manhood. His plan is to show the world that he loves them and wants them to be part of his family. It is God’s plan to bring his children into leadership and dominion. Where my girls at? Are you ready?!?!

The past few months have been filled with various experiences for me. I feel God pushing me and building capacity within to become and do more for him! It has been a lot, but I’ve learned from experience to surrender at times like this; Fighting God’s Will will only lead to exhaustion and redundancy.

Before the Women Evolve conference, I virtually attended a mentoring retreat with my spiritual mother, Pastor Funke Obadje. The theme was: THE SET TIME! Whew…no words…it was monumental. The best word to describe what I experienced is E-X-P-O-L-S-V-E! Do yourself a favor; if you don’t have a mentoring, prayerfully ask God to lead you to one! And attend events that will empower and inspire you to blossom. What you hear affects what you see; what you see is what you’ll become.

I hope to bring you along on this journey as everything unfolds.
