In my last post, I shared on how I did a self-evaluation recently and discovered something surprising about myself and I encouraged you all to do some spring cleaning as well! Every new season calls for an overhaul – reflect, make adjustments and proceed to the next level. The reason why many people feel stuck is because they are dragging around baggage. They are holding on to expired and stale commodities that are invaluable in the season ahead. They are busy picking at scabs and uncovering wounds, hence hindering their healing and postponing their progress.

Everyone goes through various stages of life, some stages are more pleasurable than others but they all matter; they are all vital stages that represent a piece of the entire puzzle, when the dots begin to connect, it brings everything full circle and the end goal is for you to be whole and well-rounded. You were designed to win, you were not created to merely survive.

This time last year, we were in the heat of the pandemic, and everything seemed like it was spiraling out of control. Now things are starting to settle down, with the advent of the COVID vaccine and the opening up of states, cities, etc. In this season, what will be unveiled are the attributes that were developed during the ‘storm’. Storms are part and parcel of life, just like it is often said “April Showers bring May Flowers”. There is no birth without labor, there is no gold without fire. So go through the process, don’t get trapped in it!

Over the last few months, I’ve had the opportunity to counsel some people who felt hopeless. People who are tired, confused, and are at their wit’s end. Seeing people in this crippled state left a huge burden in my heart. And I began to ask God, why? what exactly was going on? These people are his children and I know that he is not a deadbeat dad; he is a good good father. On Sunday, my pastor and husband said something profound, he said that several Christians act like orphans; he went on to say that the Holy Spirit is our advantage, he is the access to God’s power, and he said if we truly rely on the power we wouldn’t struggle with somethings (I paraphrase).

I am tired of seeing battered royals! I am tired of seeing God’s beloved ones incapacitated by slavery and poverty-ridden mindsets! I am tired of seeing rulers of the earth succumbing to the systems of the world! We possess the greatest power that exists, yet many are too preoccupied with things that fleeting. We have the privilege of access, yet many fail to enter in and seize what rightly belongs to them. YOU HAVE TO KNOW GOD FOR YOURSELF!!! It is time to stop playing church and fix our relationships with our father.

When I began my self-evaluation process this month, I realized that the areas where I experienced the most unhealthy stress were areas in which I allowed worry, doubt, and fear to creep into. Even when I had good intentions and was doing my part, I was stressed because I was not intentional about trusting God and entering into his rest. Nothing good happens by accident, trusting God and hearing from him every step of the way is a daily decision, leave no room for assumptions. I normally don’t like taking risks, I prefer to err on the side of caution but I’ve come to understand that all risks are not bad. Having faith in God is a good risk, you won’t always know the end result but you can trust the one who knows the end from the beginning.

In this season, I see God daring his children to be bold! Taking the bull by the horn and riding it to the top! We have the answer, dare I say, that we are the answer (we are one with God)! I want to encourage you to focus on what really matters, think about it when it is all said and done, what do you want to be known for? What legacy will you leave behind? What would be your greatest accomplishment? Share with me in the comment section!!!

As for me, I want to be known for being who God has created me to be; scaling heights, eradicating limitations, impacting lives, and empowering others to do the same. My greatest achievement will be to make Jesus famous and draw many people to him. I want the world to know, that knowing Jesus and living for him is the key to a fulfilled life because everything we need and want is found in him.

I pray that today’s post inspired you to get up and pursue a life of significance, choosing to ride the waves of challenges and not succumb to them; ensuring that you remain on the winning side even when it seems like you’ve lost so much! Take time out to evaluate every area of your life and do some spring cleaning, then make definite plans to progress!

With lots of love,
