Welcome to the month of February!!! Wooohooo…the love month!!!
For some people, with Valentine’s Day around the corner, there can be mixed emotions; ranging from extreme joy and excitement to downright sadness and feelings of loneliness. I’ve been on the extreme of both ends and I’ve also been slab dab in the middle…neutral.
True love is more than a day of celebration. It is a daily choice that requires corresponding actions of sacrifice and selfless commitment. Someone once said, “Falling in love is easy, staying in love is hard.” Everyone desires love, it is a basic need of human nature, healthy relationships are essential for an individual to thrive.
Irrespective of whether you’re in a romantic relationship or not, be encouraged…True love is available for all!!! I’ve come to discover that first and foremost, you can not truly give and receive love without encountering love itself, love is a person. Until I truly encountered God and accepted an invitation for a relationship with him, I found it very difficult to give and receive love. Falling in love with God helped me to truly love myself and love others.
Love is real and yes, true love does exist. First things first: LOVE GOD + LOVE YOURSELF = LOVE OTHERS! A missing link that I”ve discovered in this love triangle is the fact that many people struggle to love themselves; it is so vital, it is so essential. Lack of self-love will impact how you see God and how you relate to others; you’ll have your guard up and become defensive, hurt is inevitable. As it is often said, “hurt people hurt others”; be healed from all hurt…let it go!
So for Valentine’s Day this year, whether you’re boo-ed up or not, I want you to fall in love with God and yourself! Selflove is GOOD love, it is essential for your wholeness and wellbeing, celebrate YOURSELF for Valentine’s day!
I really didn’t plan to write about Valentine’s day or love…I guess someone needed to read that!

A little over a week ago a tragedy occurred that seemed to affect a lot of people. The news of the death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and others on a helicopter was heart-wrenching. I personally remember hearing so much about Kobe while growing up, he was an inspiration for many, he stood out in his profession, he was an example of excellence and dedication. I felt so sad when I heard that news of his passing, and then a few minutes later, I went to google and learned that his daughter and other people were amongst the deceased. The news shook me, as a mother my heart went out to Kobe’s wife and all loved ones affected.
When I hear about people dying at young ages, it hurts…I often wonder about their plans for their future, I often wonder if they truly had enough time to live their life to the fullest. I don’t believe that anyone is supposed to die at a young age, yet things happen. As I pondered on this tragedy, this question dropped in my heart “What are you living for?”
For some reason, the question stunned me for a few minutes. I began to analyze my life, I began to recount the first few weeks of this year and question why I did what I did and how I did it. I hate routines! But it is so easy to get encircled into routines. Wake up without fully feeling rested, perform morning routines, go to a job or class with minimal excitement, end the day dragging your feet as a result of exhaustion, then hit repeat and do it all over again.
In my dreams, I see myself waking up with pure joy at the dawn of a new day. I see myself enjoying every moment of each day and seeing it as a gift, I see new experiences, pleasant surprises and wonderful people to share them with. Of course, every day isn’t perfect, life happens yet your attitude will always determine your outcomes. Your perspective will affect your reception to life.
So back to the question, “What are you living for?” Wow, that’s a deep question. I had to come to the realization that my day to day activities contributed to my overall life goal. To answer that question, I am living for a purpose that is greater than me, myself and I. Like Martin Luther King, my dream is one that involves unity and overall peace for humanity. Through me living out my purpose, I want people to discover love and thrive. I want people to know that there is a reason for their existence and that they can truly live a fulfilled life. I live for thriving families, communities and the society at large. I live for peace, joy, healing, health and wealth…true prosperity.
That question served as a wakeup call to me, it is time to be intentional about our time. It is time to stop making excuses, it is time to be bold and step out in faith. It is time to believe and dream again. It is time to stand up to obstacles and overcome them. It is time to break up with the fear of failure, it is time to go for gold and never settle for less. It is time to love ourselves enough to go the extra mile, It is time to be and do our best, it is time to LIVE ON PURPOSE!
So, I throw the question to you: What are YOU living for? *Please comment below, I’d love to share in your dreams.

I am living to see that young girls don’t go through what I went through when I was young. Hence I do everything I can to put the ones I can help through. I am living to see relationship work and help people have healthy relationships.
I gave myself a little time to think about Kobe, His passion and dedication to humanity and everything around him, He was full of positive energy, vigorous and a role model to many. Then, the sad news…I asked myself WHY? Still In my thoughts, I remembered Myles Munroe who also died with family in a plane crash. Myles Munroe was a teacher, preacher, motivational speaker. He gave to the Lord, he served God…. But it all ended in one day, one minute, one second.
Indeed, it’s just a thin line between life and death.
My mother in her blessed memories used to say “Just give your best while it last” ….Keep doing it….. It’s a LIFE FOR RENT. So deep.
I am grateful I am not left alone in this Journey. I am desperately seeking for the grace to live for Christ.
#Christ is Love #God is Love #I am living for Love
Hmm…it is unfortunate when great people die suddenly. But the good news is that when we are in Christ, the life we live is worth living and it never ends here! So yes, enjoy life and make the best of each moment!
I am living to let people Know also how real God is and how real his love is also. Because I realized in life when you are certain you are Loved by God, you can rely on that love to live for him, yourself and people around.
God’s goodness, faithfulness, grace ,mercy… All encapsuled in his love.
When there is Love, there is whatsoever form of healing in people’s lives.
Yes! So true! Love is the foundation of life! I love that…believing in God’s love leads to loving oneself and others! Love = healing! Thanks for sharing
I’m living to become an inspiration and a good example to young people who might be having issues with overcoming addictive behaviours such as drugs and sexual related addictions. Also, I live to extend the Love of God to all people, to let them know that in Christ they can fulfil destiny and purpose.
