Hello there Family! I trust you are doing great!
Thank you for visiting the blog today! In today’s post I share what has been going on over the last few months with me and my family. Many new things have been happening. It has been a journey of learning to embrace the new while holding on to the memories of the old. Check out the post below and leave a comment before you go!

What do you do when the new seems scary?
What do you do when the new is filled with many uncertainties?
What do you do when the new is laced with more questions than answers?
What do you do when the new is an answer to a prayer you’ve prayed for a while?

Over the last few months, this has been the story of my life.
I turned the big 40 this month, and it has been filled with many new things!
My 40th year has not started as I had planned; but, it is turning out to be much better!
For many of my old-time readers, you will recall how I’ve stated my concerns about year 40. I put myself under so much pressure to be at a certain level of life by now.
I was focused on accomplishing a great deal in a short time. I wanted to feel accomplished by my own definition.
As time grew closer, I realized that I was being driven by fear. I eventually found myself in a place where I had no choice but to yield to God’s Will.

With that submission came so many new things that I could not have planned in my wildest dreams.
God blessed my family with a new home. We moved into a new neighborhood. My children started a new school. Our lives changed drastically.

Our new home testimony deserves a post of its own…I will share as led.
The move brought us into unfamiliar territory. We had been ready to move from our first home because we had outgrown it. Still, we struggled to let it go.
We had lived in the same house for nine years. I had gotten used to what was convenient. I knew our local supermarkets, food spots, post office, and dry cleaner, etc.
The toughest part was saying bye to my children’s school. They all started pre-K3 there. As a result, all the staff had become like family. They loved and supported my children, and my children always graduated at the top of their classes. Each of them received the principal’s award multiple times. I truly felt that they were vested in my children’s education.
Our new house is less than 30 minutes from our old house. We contemplated leaving them at the school and making the drive. But deep down inside, my husband and I knew it was time for them to leave.
God is so good, he has a way of speaking to you through others. My youngest daughter’s teacher at the time asked me about our plans for the upcoming school year. I shared with her that we were moving. We were concerned about taking them out of the school. She advised me to go ahead and explained how the school district in our new community was great. I saw her multiple times, and she kept saying the same thing, plus she is a Christian!

After much prayer and discussion with my husband, we perceived that it was the right step for our family, and we did! Took our children out of a charter school and placed them in a public school. They also take the school bus to and from school. This has helped them to become more independent. It has helped my husband and me to maximize our time.
After dropping off my daughter’s lunch this afternoon, I couldn’t stop thanking God for leading us in this decision. I love their new school; it is very organized, the staff is approachable, and the atmosphere is amazing.
At times, the new can be uncomfortable. This feeling is especially true when it is not included in your personal plans. Nevertheless, when God initiates the new, you can trust him to cover all the details. He knows the end from the beginning, and he knows what is best for you.
What a year 2025 has been for me so far. New things are still unfolding. Stay tuned as I will be sharing soon!
How do you handle new unplanned situations, family? How has 2025 been for you? I can not wait to hear from you! Don’t just read and go…comment below!
With lots of love,
