How has 2025 been for you all? 2025 has been an interesting year for me. It has been filled with a lot of surprises…some pleasant and some unpleasant! I’ve experienced some difficult goodbyes and some amazing hellos! I literally have a story for every month of this year.

Let’s rewind to the end of 2024…The last day of 2024 ended on a bitter-not-so-sweet note. At times, tough decisions have to be made, and that is exactly what happened with a family matter. I entered Crossover Service at church with a heavy heart and a deep desire for a better 2025.

I woke up the next morning hoping that magically, I’d feel better. But nope, I felt the weight of the events from the day before. I cooked a New Year’s Day meal for my family, and focused on other things to try to get my mind off of how I felt.

By the second week of school started for my children, so I had to get it together. I picked myself up and got some encouragement by reading my notes from the retreat and a series of prayer sessions on the mentoring platforms I belong to, which were held in December 2024. My pastor also told us to have a gratitude journal for this year and that has helped me to see things in a new light.

Then my grandmother, my only living grandparent at the time passed in January and a dear aunt passed in February. Losing loved ones is never fun. There are questions and wishes that can no longer be answered or met. I found solace in the memories that I shared with them both.

Another thing that bothers me after losing someone dear is wondering if they made it to heaven. For those who were not born again before passing, I secretly prayed that they gave their lives to Christ before leaving the hurt. But the thought of not knowing for sure intensifies the pain of the lost.

Besides the pain of losing loved ones. I started the year with a wake up call. It was like a reality check. I considered where I was on various levels in my life, and I realized that I was not where I thought I would be at this stage of my life. I wondered if my delayed obedience to instructions from God was the cause.

For instance, 2024 for my fashion business went through a rough patch. I could not release another collection because of so many roadblocks. At one point, I felt like a failure. By the last quarter of 2024, after a failed attempt at trying to release a holiday collection, we had challenges with finding the right factoring, sourcing the right fabric, and the list goes on.

I was frustrated. I started to blame myself for not starting the business years ago and wished that I could fast forward this phase because I’ve sacrificed so much time and money and it was discouraging.

Then I remembered the mercy of God. I embraced his love and picked myself up and began to seek his face for the future of the business. I decided to focus on the impact of the business instead of the financial state.

I’ve learned over time that the goal of having a Kingdom Business is to extend the kingdom and meet needs, NOT to make money. I was thankful that I had a team and loved ones who supported me and believed in our vision. I focused my energy on creating a strategic plan for the new year and thanking God that we are still standing.

We must understand that any vision that God commits into our hands requires a spiritual backing. Kingdom projects, assignments, businesses, marriages, etc is warfare. There is no success without a sacrifice. Nothing big comes without a price. For believers, we are at an advantage because Jesus already paid the price. Our part is to partner with him, surrender to him, and obey him. Allowing God to be the CEO, and trusting his process/

However, our ignorance holds us back. Our fears hold us captive. We hold back because remaining in a box and hoping for a miracle feels more secure. We play religion when God calls us to a relationship. We make excuses instead of pursuing results.

JOIN ME TO SAY NO MORE TO BEING SELF-SUFFICIENT! FOR THE REST OF THIS YEAR AND OUR LIVES WE TRUST GOD ABSOLUTELY!!!

Now let’s tone it down a little…I got carried away and started preaching! *laughs* I believe that the Word was someone!!!
