Love Is Capital!

6–9 minutes

Hey DDB family!

I trust you all have been well and the year has been great so far!

Long time no post! I can explain…

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Better late than never!

This year started on a sober note for me. My family and I traveled at the end of 2023 for my father-in-law’s funeral, and it was an experience. While it felt great to be back in Nigeria after ten years and see friends and family that I missed so much, it was so painful that my father-in-law was not there. Grief can be unexplainable at times, going through the motions while trying to be present for my children, strong for my husband, and available for everyone else in my life. Felt really hard at times. But, it has gotten better. I still think about my father-in-law often, he is deeply missed.

What helped me through the funeral process up until now is that he lived an impactful life. He was truly a Christian and he made it to heaven! The beautiful thing about having a relationship with God is that he is always with you, whether you’re going through the fire or all is going great in your life. In this season, I have felt the comfort of the Holy Spirit like never before. And I understand what the scriptures say:

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

13 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope

14 For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.

There is hope, so when he comes to mind I can smile and thank God for a life well lived. I will see him again when Jesus returns. To top it off I have the privilege to continue his legacy as a minister of the gospel and an entrepreneur!

After returning to the USA a few days before the new year, we jumped right back into work. For the first three weeks of January, I was tired! My creative juices refused to flow. I just wanted to sleep until I attended my spiritual parent’s annual Sons. Daughters, and Partner’s Conference virtually, and I was inspired all over again! There is something about the Word and the ministry of God’s Spirit! It just spurs you to action. I was finally pumped for 2024 during the last week of January, since then it has been one thing back to back. I have been busy yet productive.

Often, being a creative visionary can be overwhelming. You see what others can not see, like Noah when he was building an ark, people think you are out of your mind because you attempting to create new standards and break boundaries. I’ve learned that being a visionary takes boldness and can feel lonely at times. How do you find a role model, when you were created to be a forerunner? But guess what, you are never alone! God always has you covered. Your relationship with the giver of the vision is key.

At a point last week, I was almost asking God “Why me?” I was tired of getting new ideas and instructions, I just wanted to finish the current assignments he had given me and move on with my dream life of being laid back and behind the scenes. I had a rethink and decided to shut up and be grateful. I knew better, the feeling was a distraction and I was on the verge of something massive. To be honest, over the last year, God has been good to me! I’ve never experienced an influx of destiny helpers like this before.

There is a temptation to want to run and hide when God gives us a dream that seems impossible. But I have learned that there is indeed provision for every vision. These provisions come in different forms: human resources, financial resources, material resources, etc. Most people always think that when they don’t have the money needed to fund their dreams then it is a reason to be hopeless. But money is not a big deal for God, all he needs is your obedience, take the first step and he will carry you from there!

God has blessed me with so many people who have gone over and above for me without asking for anything in return. I have come to the realization that the best gift you can give people is love. Love is a gift that keeps giving, people will never forget those who truly love them. Love is impactful because it goes the extra mile to meet needs and change lives. Love is capital! You can truly go to the bank with love. It is the foundation for genuine relationships. And your network is key! Never downplay human capital.

Do you want to do big things? Then go out of your way to be a blessing, and what you make happen for others will come back to you! Just like my spiritual parents say, “No one can successfully resist love.”

To be honest with you, I wanted to throw in the towel on this blog (I am sure I’ve said this one too many things). I just felt that I had other things to focus on and it takes a lot to sit down and write. Once I made up my mind to call it quits, four different people reached out to me to ask about the blog. When I told them that I was done, they practically begged me not to. I knew that I had to ask God for forgiveness because I wanted to end an assignment that he gave me without his permission. And here I am, after God put me in my place!

I am here because I love to impact and inspire people. I would rather people learn from my experiences instead of learning from their mistakes. I’ve dedicated my life to serving humanity and empowering everyone I come in contact with virtually or in person to fulfill their God-given destinies.

With that being said, I have exciting news! In a few weeks, I will be launching a new book!!! It has been ten years in the making! It is a book of fictional short stories titled Soteria – Saved By A Name. It chronicles the lives of people of African descent who were bombarded with the storms of life. The challenges were designed to crush them, but their names were able to redirect them to the purposes of their lives.

I started writing this book when I was pregnant with my first daughter, I started by posting the stories on my Facebook page and I was surprised at the response from friends and family. The inspiration kept flowing, and I could not stop writing. I remember that after a few days of giving birth, I posted a new portion of the story that I was writing at the time on my status and my cousin had to remind me that I just had a baby and needed to chill.

I just knew that these stories were not just for a selected few. So I decided to add more stories and share them with the world! Family, I need your support! Follow my author’s Instagram handle:https://www.instagram.com/books_byba/ for details about the launch date. And once the book drops, purchase! Share with your friends! Post reviews on Amazon and all that good stuff! I am counting on you all, please come through for me.

With lots of love,

– Bunmi Adebiyi
