Surrender: The Essence of Life

3–5 minutes

Hello family, I hope your week has been great so far!

The holidays are upon us! What are your plans for Christmas and ringing in the New Year?

I love the Christmas season! Much more than giving and receiving gifts; it is that time of year to celebrate the greatest gift to humanity! J.E.S.U.S is the reason for the season! For me, it is a time to dream again, a season of restored hope, and a season to stir up my potentials.

While preparing to minister at a meeting, I had an epiphany the other day. There has been a question about my purpose that has lingered in the back of my mind. And  I finally had a better understanding. Over the last couple of years, there has been a tussle. I’d look at my dreams and compare them to my present circumstance, and it did not add up. At times, I’d felt discouraged; at other times, I’d feel overwhelmed. Deep down inside, I knew that I could not give up, but holding on often got tiring.

The best thing that can happen to you is to get into a personal relationship with Jesus. The next best thing is to discover why you were placed on planet earth and walk the path that has been paved for you. Jesus understood the assignment – he lived to die. It occurred to me recently that the fulfillment of God’s plan for our lives follows the same order. We were born to live out the life God designed for us by dying to every form of self-ambition.

Deciding to die consistently intentionally is HARD! Is it wrong to have good aspirations and personal dreams? Nope, those good desires were implanted into your heart by God. It is in partnership with his action plan that you come into fulfillment. There is no partnership without surrender {death to being solo}. Some people think about the words: die or death and get frightened instantly. Please don’t exit the website; hear me out. When I say “die,” I am not referring to the physical body’s end of life. Absolutely not! I believe that God’s will is for us to live a long and whole life.

I am referring to living your life as a seed. A seed can not produce fruit unless it is planted. Planting involves getting your hands dirty, pruning, and all that messy stuff. The seed phase isn’t always fun, but its harvest makes you forget the hard stuff. There is no impact without harvest, and impact is the goal of that God-given vision.

I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives.

John 12:24 NLT

This is a friendly reminder of how much of a big deal you are as you embrace God’s plan for your life. As the Holidays approach, refuse to dumb down on your vision. If you focus on it, you will stay afloat. If you entirely depend on God, you will get to the finish line. Give it your all…blood, sweat, and tears.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me]. Matthew 16:24 AMP

When you live in the center of God’s Will, you never lose your life; you actually discover the true essence of life. I am on a mission to be a blessing to every person that crosses my path. I want people to see me and believe that their best days are ahead of them. I want people to understand that they have a quota to contribute to their world.

Life is meant to be thoroughly enjoyed in each season and not endured. Each season has elements of beauty embedded in it; the process contributes to the end goal. Here is my encouragement to enjoy the remainder of this month as you plan for better days ahead in 2022. Some seasons are never recycled; why not live your best life NOW?!?!

With lots of love,
