Hello family,
How are you all doing today? I hope your week is going well!
My week is off to a great yet busy start, but no complaints here! I am grateful for the opportunities that I have in this season!
Is this your first time here? WELCOME!!! Thank you so much for visiting the blog today; don’t stop at being a visitor! Join the DDB family! Subscribe to the blog and follow us on social media for other goodies that don’t make it on the blog!
It is the first day of fall! It is a bit chilly today, but no complaints. I like the fall, it is not too hot, and it isn’t too cold. I also like fall fashion: cardigans, leather, and boots! Yay!!!

Let’s talk about purpose!
Living a life of purpose is the key to fulfillment. However, the journey isn’t all fun and games. It is work! You have to put in work for the vision to manifest. When I first discovered my purpose, I falsely believed that it would be easy-breezy from that time forth. Hahahahaaaaa…who was I kidding besides myself? My purpose journey has been incredible so far, but it hasn’t been void of unsuspected loops and turns.
I honestly just want to empower people to live the life of their dreams. But there is a lot that comes with that territory. There is a lot of baggage to dispose of, a lot of unlearning, learning, and relearning to be done, and a lot of mind surgery to be conducted.
Something happened some years ago that shook me. I served as a leader in a particular organization that God led me to, and I noticed that people were not accepting my leadership. Everyone had a mind of their own and did not agree with me on many of my decisions. I was truly devastated, and I wanted to throw in the towel. But, I knew that I could not because God was depending on me. I was just wondering why he gave the toughest team to work with!
I was on the brink of tears when I finally got in touch with my mentor after many failed attempts. Her words were short yet therapeutic. She said (I paraphrase), “When God sends you to people, and they misbehave, don’t look at them, look to the God who sent you.” In other words, my focus was wrong. I shouldn’t have looked to my team members for approval and affirmation. I needed to go back to my source for wisdom.
That’s truly what I did! I cried out to God for help! And he gave me clarity for that season.

On the journey of purpose, there is a trap to avoid. Never dance to the tune of human beings! People can be fickle; they can love you one second and stab you in the back the next. What they need is love. As we know, the common saying, “hurt people hurt people.” Many people are hurting, and they need love. They need people to believe the best of them even when they are at their worst.
Now, I accept the appreciation of those I serve, but I don’t let it get to my head. What matters the most to me is that God is pleased with me. I want to make him proud! I want him to see me as a faithful steward! I want to be aligned to his perfect Will and on point with his prophetic plan for my life! That’s all that matters to me.
I still love people with all my heart, but I can not allow them to steal my joy. I’ve been there before, and it sucks! Now, if I see the people I lead malfunctioning, I go back to God and re-strategize. I’ve also learned to NEVER give up on people! People actually change, keep showing them you genuinely mean well and encourage them to be the best version of themselves; they will undergo metamorphosis before your eyes.
However, many people lack patience and give up easily. Often, the pressure increases when the time for a breakthrough is near. You have to stay the course until you complete the task. I always look ahead at the future, it is always bright, and I don’t hesitate to look behind to celebrate how far I’ve come. Perspective is everything, it may be bad, but it can be much worse. So choose to focus on the good as you journey to the best!
Be encouraged today; living a life of purpose is not a scam! Keep pushing; it gets better!
With lots of love,
