Welcome to the month of S-E-P-T-E-M-B-E-R!!! I am excited, next week I will be celebrating my birthday! In the past, the month of September has been a bittersweet month for me. I’ve always found myself thanking God for a new year yet feeling bad for the goals that I was yet to accomplish. This year, I’ve made up my mind to celebrate to the fullest! Life is a gift; when we embraced it, there is hope for better days.
Life is about balance; if you focus too much on your failures, mistakes, or unaccomplished goals, you’ll be stuck in the past. If you focus on your strengths, accomplishments and see your mistakes as learning experiences, you’ll be driven, and your future won’t be farfetched.
I definitely don’t want to encourage people to be stagnant and make excuses for being lazy and unproductive. Because there is a divine timetable for our lives, and God is waiting on us. There are multitudes tied to our obedience to God’s call upon our lives. Like my pastor says, “Delayed obedience is disobedience.” I am all about pursuing God’s purpose for my life; he gave me his all, and I owe him my life.
Let’s be honest, purpose, while amazing, is not for the faint of heart. It takes graceful hard work, consecration, dedication, and grit! At times, you will have to get your hands dirty. Those that God sends you to may not accept you initially; they may not be the friendliest set of people, they may have trust issues, or be suffering from past traumas; they may not be Instagram-worthy, so you may find yourself working hard behind the scenes. But these people are essential; they are vital to God’s agenda; he loves them too. And you were chosen to be an extension of God’s love to them.
You can not give what you have not entirely accepted. You can not manifest what you have not planted via preparation. Life is not about what you do but who you are becoming. Jesus is the goal; he is the source of an abundant life, a life that fulfills purpose by dancing to the tune of the instructions from the father’s lips. The more you unfold into the image of Christ, the more progress you make.
Going forward, I want to ask you to join me to celebrate every win, small, medium, or big! But, never stop…never give up…there is more, keep moving…keep striving to outdo the last version of yourself. Heed those instructions! Reach out, start that project, make that contact! When you step out in faith and start, God will take it from there. He will help you and send you helpers that will aid in completing what you have initiated.
SEPTEMBER is upon us. Let’s make it count!
