Hello DECEMBER!!!

4–7 minutes

Heyyyyy!!! I am so happy that you decided to visit the blog today. More importantly, I am so glad that you are alive to read this!!! Wooohoooo!!!

I am all smiles today! Wow, we made it to December 2020!!! What a year! What a ride! 2020 has been like a roller coaster, with many loops, twists and turns. One thing that I’ve learned to do this year is to be grateful and embrace change. When everything around you seems to be falling apart yet you remain standing through it all, you can’t take credit for that.

The last couple of months have been filled with moments of reflection for me. I had to put on my big girl pants and face realities, there were some issues that I could no longer avoid and decisions that had to be made. No more time for procrastination and overthinking. I had to be true to my decision to ‘pulling out all the stops (check out my last post here). In order to walk the walk while talking the talk, you gotta put in work!

I had to close some doors that I’ve held dear for so long to make room for bigger and better things. Saying goodbye to what you love isn’t always easy. But when God tells you to say goodbye, it is for a greater cause. It may bittersweet but when you enter into the next phase, it will be filled with much more than you can ask or imagine. You’d be glad you obeyed and say goodbye, because with God…goodbyes are hellos to MORE!

Have you ever been on a journey without a clear destination in mind? You just find yourself driving, or maybe you’re the passenger and you decide to go for a ride. You may feel some discomfort because of some uncertainties but there is a peace you can’t be described, so you keep going fueled by an adrenaline rush knowing that the end of the journey will be better than the beginning. After a few bumps and hitches, it’ll be smooth sailing. You may not always understand it fully but you can trust the one who guides you along the journey.

I’ve found myself on such journey this year. So many unexpected turns, but I’ve had peace. So many light bulb moments that have transforms my mental space. There is beauty on the journey of self-discovery and self-development. It doesn’t always feel good but it is worth the investment.

This year, I made a quality decision to invest in myself. I pushed myself to think outside of boxes that I’ve taken residence in. I pushed myself out of comfort zones that served as a cushion for mediocrity in disguise. I dare to dream again and see myself beyond the confines of what life presented.

I am still a work in progress, but I’ve made up my mind to celebrate all wins no matter how minute. It is a win-win situation! I rejoice at new beginnings and pleasant surprises. I rejoice at restoration and my best days ahead of me. I rejoice at new dawns and splendid seasons. I rejoice at being in an intimate relationship with the God of all possibilities.

I woke up this morning and I couldn’t stop dancing. My heart is full and even if I didn’t have anything else to be thankful for (that’s a big fat lie!), I am grateful for the LIFE! This is the best time to be ALIVE! We all are apart of the generation of the beautiful ones, the world-changers, the game changers, the innovators, the pacesetters, the new standard definers!

Dear friend, if you’re reading this…YOU ARE SPECIAL! YOU ARE REMARKABLE! God has a special plan for your life, discovering and fulfilling that plan is the true key to success and fulfillment. Living your best life is not a facade, it is a reality and I want you to believe it!!! And dance your way into the life of your dreams 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼. The grateful ones are the ways that make it in life. They’re always the first amongst their counterparts because they choose to see things from the higher realm, the realm of reality. They choose that right attitude that correlates with consistent altitude. They choose to truly live, they choose life…because complaining and worrying only leads to stagnancy and decay; death stinks so why fondle with it?

I want to challenge you today, to be grateful. Even if you lost anything (I am deeply sorry about that), the fact that you are alive is enough hope to carry you into better days. Keep your hope alive, don’t suffocate it with pity parties, they’re no fun! Let your heartbeat be the rhythm that you dance to today, let the breath in your lungs serenade you, put some pep in your steps and beautify your face with a smile (it is natural make up).

I love you all so much! Thanks for always reading and encouraging! Today is my two year blogversary on WordPress! Two years ago, my blog which was originally on blogger for many years, transitioned and it has been a fun ride. Every time someone gives me feedback from reading my posts, I am elated!

So celebrate with me! Don’t stop reading, sharing, and commenting! It can only get bigger and better from here!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Now over to you, don’t skip over this part! I really LOVE to read from YOU! What are you most grateful for in this season? What are you looking forward to in 2021?

With lots of love,

– Bunmi Adebiyi
